Humidity control and moisture removal in the aerospace industry is critical to protect the whole and parts.

Applications in the aerospace industry are very diverse and include dew point control and relative humidity. For example, a relative humidity (RH) of 40% is required to eliminate corrosion, rot and damage during the production, storage and operation of aircraft. For other applications, it may be necessary to ensure that condensation does not form by controlling the dew point to prevent corrosion.

Some of the problems we have encountered in this industry include:

Avionics and preventing condensation

Transportation of parts in separate controlled environments

Long-term protection of museum pieces or airplane hangers

Production of canopies for fighter jets

had encountered a large aircraft manufacturer who was having problems protecting existing coated parts during shipment. This method not only proved expensive in terms of the labor and time required to apply and remove the coating, but also created environmental issues. Changes in legislation meant that this process did not continue.

We have developed a new transportation system that allows for a controlled and regulated environment on moving vehicles over 30 meters in length. Temperature and humidity are controlled to specific set points whilst overcoming the need for power on the moving vehicle.

The system incorporates the latest control features developed in-house. This includes data logging, Ethernet connectivity, wireless connectivity and even the use of an app to track conditions throughout the transportation cycle, resulting in complete ease of handling over the life of the component.

The use of dew point / RH control and non-contact temperature probes ensures that condensation is prevented.

In fact, our transportation vehicles can even assess the surrounding room to ensure safe removal of components at the final destination. It's amazing that dry air systems play such an important role in keeping the world's largest and fastest airplanes flying high.

Whether you have specific requirements for your application or just have a problem with the process, we can support you.
